OweTally
Terms of use
Last updated: 10 September 2026
These terms describe use of OweTally, provided by Szilágyi Krisztián-Attila, an individual developer based in Romania, under the developer name Moenish. Questions can be sent to moenish.dev@gmail.com.
What OweTally does
OweTally helps you keep a personal record of shared expenses, balances, and repayments. It does not transfer or hold money, provide loans, connect to bank accounts, collect debts, or provide financial, legal, or tax advice. An entry in your ledger does not by itself establish another person's agreement to a debt.
Completely free
OweTally is free to download and use. It contains no advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. No payment or billing details are required by the app.
Using the app
You may use the app for lawful personal record keeping. Enter and share only information you are entitled to use, respect other people's privacy, and check amounts, currencies, participants, and balances before relying on them. Resolve payment arrangements directly with the people involved.
Your records and backups
You retain your rights to the information and files you enter. Your ledger is stored on your device, and Moenish cannot recover it for you. If your local data is lost and you have no usable backup, Moenish cannot retrieve or reconstruct it. We do not provide a data-recovery or backup-repair service. Keep backups if the records matter to you. Backup files are not encrypted by OweTally; protect them and check their contents before sharing. Restoring a backup replaces existing app data, so export the current data first if you need to keep it.
App and third-party rights
These terms allow you to use OweTally for the personal record keeping described above. They do not transfer ownership of the app or its branding. Third-party software components remain subject to their own licenses; their notices are available through the app's About dialog.
Privacy and external services
The privacy policy explains data handling. Device backups, file providers, email, and apps you use to share or view files are separate services with their own terms and policies.
Availability and responsibility
Reasonable care goes into OweTally, but errors, interruptions, compatibility problems, or data loss can occur. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided as available without a guarantee that it will always be error-free or meet every need. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Updates and stopping use
Features and these terms may change as the app develops. Revised terms will be posted here with an updated date. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law. You can stop using OweTally at any time; export records you want to keep before deleting the app and its data.
